Everything we use to make our reseller lives easier

*forever a work in progress*

People always ask what we use to run the biz, so I put together this list for you. As always, shopping secondhand is the best choice — but if you need the new-new, I got you.

Heads up: some of the links below are affiliate links. They're all things we actually own and love, and we'd recommend them either way. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

For laundry & garment care

Cleaning & stain removal

Mozi Wash — our detergent of choice for delicate vintage. Gentle on old fibers, still actually gets things clean. First-time buyers get $20 off through that link. Game-changer.

Synthrapol — a splash in the wash keeps colors from bleeding. It really, really works — clutch for anything hand-dyed or questionable. Game-changer.

OxiClean — probably my best friend in the laundry room. I keep White Revive around for dull, dingy vintage whites, and Odor Blaster for cigarette and mothball funk. (If that doesn't do it: spray vodka on it and stick it in the freezer until you forget about it. Not a joke. Real advice. It works.) Budget pick.

Shout — a classic, and one of my most reliable stain removers. Budget pick.

Restoration & finishing

Fabric shaver — getting rid of those little fuzz balls instantly makes vintage look newer and more valuable. Game-changer.

Mighty Mendit — sometimes a little fabric glue is all that stands between a wounded bird and a showstopper. And when a piece needs more than glue, our Singer machine handles the real mending (use code YOUHAVETIMETOWASTE). Splurge (machine) / Budget pick (Mendit).

Heavy starch — nothing helps pieces hold their shape on the racks and at pop-ups like good old heavy starch. Adds a crispness that makes garments feel newer. Budget pick.

Leather cleaner & conditioner — restores luster and makes leather goods way more desirable. I keep leather wipes around for lighter jobs too. Budget pick.

A big ol' garment steamer — ours was a gift, but it's just like this one and we love it. We've also got a good iron (I love it as much as a normal person can love an iron) and a packable tabletop ironing board. Splurge (steamer).

For organizing & displaying

First things first: racks. I've bought SO many — double rails on a single z-frame are the best (twice the hang, half the floor, fast to break down for pop-ups). We also run single z-racks at home and two 36" circle racks I adore (height-adjustable for my tallest maxis). Splurge (worth it).

Good plastic hangers for tees; slim velvet hangers for dresses and wide collars (they let me squeeze in extras). Budget pick.

Mannequins! Things sell better on mannequins — I cannot say it enough. Full-size ones get pricey, so I use hanging ones in plus-size and standard to show more bodies. Splurge (pays for itself).

Rack signage (fits 4x6 thermal paper) and size tags — the faster shoppers find their size, the faster they buy. A free-standing grid wall divides your space and gives special pieces a moment. Budget pick.

A tagging gun changed my life (we spent 8 months safety-pinning tags). It's sharp as hell, so cap it — and grab extra barbs. For barcodes we use a thermal label printer plus the Retail Barcode Labels app. Game-changer.

For listing & the back office

Vendoo is our home base (cross-posts to eBay, Depop, Poshmark, Mercari, Grailed, and Shopify), and Shopify runs the shop. Game-changer.

For receipts, a wireless scanner — first of every month I scan the previous month's and file them for taxes. And honestly? Just get a real accountant. Splurge (worth every penny).

For packing & shipping

Get a thermal label printer (no ink, bluetooth — I used to tape printer-paper labels on; never again) and a ton of labels. Game-changer.

Always include a thank-you note — we grab cards from the Goodwill bins, but these work in a pinch. And I love a colorful poly mailer (self-sealing, sparks joy). For anything that won't fit, USPS flat-rate with the free boxes — just tape the ever-loving crap out of it. Budget pick.

For pop-ups

zip-up storage totes make packing easy — leave clothes on hangers, fold in half, drop in, zip. Soft-sided, packable, durable (I've bought ~40, only 2 zippers died, both my fault). Game-changer.

You'll also want a good tent — ours is a pink 10x20 with sidewalls; a 10x10 is plenty if you're starting out. Splurge.

For streaming

Come hang with us live on Whatnot — it's where the real fun and the real deals happen. To look good doing it: a ring light with phone holder makes life 100% easier, and wireless mics keep your audio consistent. Game-changer.

For content & branding

CapCut for editing (we pay for it), Canva (free version, love the AI), and ChatGPT for the menial stuff. Budget pick / free.

Repurpose.io is our newest time-saver — it auto-shares our Reels and TikToks to YouTube Shorts (watermark-free) so we stop re-uploading the same video a dozen times. Game-changer.

Stickers from a sticker app; business cards and signage from Vistaprint (always grab their coupons). Budget pick.

Bonus

We keep the studio (house) floor presentable between the chaos with a Narwal Flow robot vacuum. Not a reseller essential, but highly recommend if you're drowning in fabric lint. Splurge.
