Let's make a kaftan!

Summary
Hi, hello, I'm Sami, and today we're making a kaftan! As always, this is a half-ass tutorial so you can use your whole-ass imagination. The whole idea: grab a big rectangle of fabric (a curtain panel, a tablecloth, a thrifted sheet, whatever you've got), fold it, cut a neck hole and some simple seams, and end up with a breezy, flowy kaftan that fits basically anyone.
It's the perfect project if you're new to sewing or just want something forgiving and fast. Don't forget to press your seams and make it your size, then go wear it like the goddess you are.
- Start with a large rectangle of fabric: curtain panels, tablecloths, and sheets are all fair game.
- Fold, mark a neck opening, and stitch up the sides, leaving room for your arms.
- It's loose and forgiving by design, so exact measurements matter way less than with fitted garments.
- Press your seams and adjust the length and width to your own size.
- Whole-ass imagination encouraged: trim it, belt it, add sleeves, make it yours.
