Vintage Thrift Haul: 70s Maxi Sets, Silk Prints & So Many Fun Patterns

Summary

After the most chaotic month (hello, fashion show), my friends came to town and my beloved Nikki and I went thrifting and antiquing. I loaded up on the most amazing and random stuff, mostly from the Salvation Army and an antique mall, and most of it for under six bucks. Come see the treasures, the prints, and the things I'm already plotting to sew into something unhinged.

  • 70s two-piece maxi set with a floral print I swore was apples, for $10, and it's absolutely leaving the house.
  • Silky prints for cheap: an 80s Dudley silk dog print blouse ($4.99), a crescent-moon Sag Harbor dress, a paisley poly number, and a baby blue Act One (Jonathan Logan) chiffon blouse.
  • Upcycling fodder: a threadbare rainbow farm-animal blanket and Ralph Lauren Polo Bear sheets that are destined to become something ridiculous.
  • Matching sets and moody colors: a red corduroy sailor-collar jacket with its matching skirt, a 40s-vibe olive brown dress, and a wool button-side skirt with military energy.
  • Antique mall bonuses: a $28 purse with room for my phone, my hopes, and my dreams, plus a flowy skirt and a Triple L piece Nikki found.

Hi. Hello. You've got time to waste and I'm here to waste it. Hi. Hello. Are you ready for a thrift haul? Well, it's too [ __ ] bad because you're getting one. It has been the most chaotic month that I have had in some time. Friday was the fashion show and for the past month, I have been just making stuff. But my friends came into town and now Nikki is here, my beloved wife, my bride, and we went thrifting and antiquing and I loaded up on the most amazing and random things. I kind of blacked out for a while there. So, let's discover together the treasures I acquired.

Uh, starting off super strong. Look at this cutie. spent 10 bucks on her from the Salvation Army. She zips up and has an incredible pattern. I thought it was apples at first, but it is indeed flowers and that's cool. It's awesome. I love it. She's 70s. Um, did she have a tag? Let me check. Yeah, she's a Lorraine Jun and she's a medium. And so this is fantastic. But wait, this [ __ ] keeps getting better because she's a twopiece set. A whole maxi dress. And I am sure when she was made, the intent was for this to be loungewear. But it's 2026 and shit's rough. We're wearing that out in the world. We're celebrating every day.

This waterfall baby here. Waterfalls. Waterfall dresses are my favorite. I even kind of did like a waterfall skirt situation for that fashion show. But uh she's got a nylon zipper and is made by uh Hugalo Fashions in Honolulu. She's not super duper vintage, but she is super duper fabulous. Uh, only $4.50ents on this one. $4.49. She's marked an XL, but she seems smaller than that to me. Uh, yeah, not at all an XL. This is This is a small. This is Sammy sized. Okay. amped. Actually, let me be taking these tags off as [clears throat] we go because I ain't trying to have multiple steps.

Nikki found this one for me. She's got light shoulder pads. She's this gorgeous baby blue. We have pleats. We have chiffon. It's act one. And that is a division of my boy Jonathan Logan, who you know I love. in cheesy YouTube fashion. I have to tell you, go watch the history. I posted about it. I'll probably link it here if I remember. Uh oh my god. And her little cuffs, they feel very silky. And her sleeves are very sheer. Really love this one. Actually smells very fresh and clean. I love that.

Uh oh my god, I got these super gay little blanket. Look at it. Look at all of these gay little animals. I love them so much. We got roosters and sheep and chickens and a little man on a tractor. Everybody's got rainbows. It's so bright and it's so happy and I love it so much. Um, it is very well worn. I thought that this was a pattern and I realize now that the backing is just threadbear which is delightful. Delightful. I can't wait to make this into something. Did I get your tag off? Bam. All right. Let me get your tag. Maybe I already did. You guys are like you already did, [ __ ] Then what do we have?

Ralph Lauren, made in USA. Polo bear sheets. You know, I'm gonna make something absolutely unhinged out of this. Uh, the most bootleg bear situation you've ever seen. Like, what if I took what if I took everything that I love about uh Oh my god, it's been a long week. Vivian Westwood meets the Polo Bears in like a ridicul. We'll see. I'm taking a week off from sewing because my fingers are so sore because I did so much hand stitching and I've just beat them to hell. So, we're taking a break.

Oh my god, this jacket. It's red corduroy. It's got the sailor collar and it has all of these little buttons which are not my favorite buttons. So, I'm probably going to swap them with some other ones I've got. And I know that you're amped for me for this, but get more excited, [ __ ] because matching skirt. I love it so much. I actually I don't think this is going to fit me. My hips seem a tad too powerful, but we'll try anyway. You always you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Might as well try it on.

Oh, and then we have this komodo. Japanese. Where's the tag? I know. I saw it in here. Here we go. It is a a poly esttol [laughter] made in Japan. Hi, wifey. She's just on the other side of that window being perfect and beautiful. Uh, it's got cool sleeves. Oh, there's something in the sleeve. What is it? Oh, it's its belt. [ __ ] yes. Thank you, previous owner, for putting the belt in the sleeve. Oh, I for sure thought it wasn't going to have one.

Oh, Nikki found this one for me. We thought that this was shorts at first, but it's just like a little pleum with pockets. Uh, it's prescription, so I hope your doctor advises it. Only $3.99. I think the blue tags were on sale, too. Uh, it also reminds me of Futurama. Uh, was it Captain Zaf? Zap, whoever. He didn't. You know who I mean. Oh my god. This is 80s Dudley woman. It's dogs and gifts. I tried to get Nikki to get this, but she's like holding off on the loan. I don't I don't know. She didn't want it. I took it. I love it. It was $4.99 and it's silk. It was worth every penny. I love it.

Oh, this one. I am like really feeling this like dark brown olive color right now. And this dress was giving very strong 40s vibes. Definitely made in the 80s, but I really like it. Uh, let's see. Under the dry cleaner tag. It was made by Hearts and it was $5.99. She's got shoulder pads. Might be too small for me. Might be able to make it work. If it's too small, I might like cut it into a two-piece set and go from there. I re like I really like it.

Uh let's see who we have here. For $3.99, I got this very fun robe. It's terry cloth, maybe 70s or 80s. It still has its belt and it's um it's just vintage sex avenue, so I had to grab it. Tag is all washed out. It's one size fits all, so it's got to be 80s then. I feel like that's the one sizefits-all era. Terry cloth cozy orange. Love it. Speaking of terry cloth, follow Nikki Terry Styles, my beloved friend.

This one, it's a Sagge Harbor. Maybe Sag Harbor. I never know. But the print was so delicious with all of its little crescent moons. She was six bucks. And I think the blue tags were on sale. I really hate that Salvation Army uses staples sometimes. It's so tedious trying not to rip these clothes. And I know as an organization, Salvation Army does good things and also bad things and we're like iffy on them. But this store has the sweetest human beings. One of these guys just walks around the whole time asking how he can help and if he can bring you a cart and I'm always asking how you're doing. It's just really nice and I like it.

Uh this dress was six bucks. It has a matching belt, light shoulder pads, belt loops, and um it reminds me Oh, and these buttons on the side. It reminds me of Gwen Stefani in that No Doubt music video in the 90s before we kind of thought she sucked. You can't see how long it is. It's so good. Um, I love it, you guys. I'm still going. I had so much [ __ ] good stuff today. I got this one because it describes me as a person perfectly. Emo. And uh, it's a size A. What does that even mean? It was $4.99. a great price. I just dropped a couple other guys. Who do we have here? We've got this one. We have paisley leaves. She has polyester. There's no brand tag. $4.99. Love her. What if I was just looked at my phone and thought, "Oh, you're not recording." Would have been so mad at myself.

I got this. Okay. Oh, man. I really like this one. It is wool. It's a tag size six. That doesn't matter. It's $4.99. And she buttons all the way down the side again with this color. That is like absolutely speaking to my heart right now. She has the wool tag. She has the size tag. I don't see a brand tag anywhere in here. It looks like It kind of looks like a military skirt to me, but I don't know for sure. But doesn't it kind of like it has like army uniform vibes a little bit? Maybe not green enough. Let me know if you know more than me.

Oh, okay. That was it in those bags. And then what else did I get this week that I wanted you to see? This JH brought this dress home yesterday. Where is she? Here she is. And it is so flipping good. Look at that. Look at her. How good. Big ass circle skirt. A little bit too big for me, but um I can fix that. Or maybe I won't. And then I think we started with this guy, which brings us full circle. And that's all the stuff I got. Thank you for coming to my thrift haul. I hope you enjoyed it. I do feel like there's another bag I baked you out one set.

I knew there was more. I knew I got stuff at the antique mall. Okay, look. I got this new purse. I paid 28 bucks for this at an uh at an antique mall. It's missing a couple of these little guys. Has a tiny bit of schmutz. Ain't no thing. room for my vape, my phone, my hopes, my dreams, maybe my freaking sketchbook, a great size, cute handles. I liked the way it looked with this outfit. I was like, "Yeah, I'm going to get that." Um, Shade, baby, who doesn't need that in your life? This is actually JR's, but it was a good choice and you needed to see it.

This Nikki found for me. I can't remember whose booth it was at, but it's so good. And I wish you could feel it. It's this like thick textured warm Polly. I'm sure. Oh my god. And this skirt. She was like, "Oh, this is you." She was right. It's so good. So flowy and fun. And my very favorite is this. Of course, Nikki found it, too, because she's the best. How fun is that? It's also um triple Okay, read the label with me. Triple L brand. So, does that mean it's three sets of three L's or should they have said triple L? You decide.

Um, okay. That's it for real this time. Everything that I got today is right over there. And some things are falling off the chair that I made for the fashion show. Okay, I'm going to quit wobbling. I love you. Take care of yourself. Be nice to each other. See you soon.

Thanks for wasting your time with me. Waste more time by liking and subscribing and watching another video. Thanks.
