Let's go on a roadtrip to Nashville

Summary
We packed up and went to Nashville for the weekend — partly for the music, mostly (let's be honest) for the vintage shopping. There was a lot of both, plus food that I'm still thinking about.
If you're planning your own trip: stay at the Russell in East Nashville. It's a 115-year-old church converted into a boutique hotel, and 100% of their profits go to organizations helping people experiencing homelessness. Ten out of ten, no notes — and exactly what Dolly would do.
- A very rare Blue Angel shirt (Cyndi Lauper's band before she was Cyndi Lauper) from our friend Russ's men's vintage collection
- Vintage shops in Columbia, TN — Ava's store and Nick's cute little checkout window
- The Russell Hotel, East Nashville — a converted church that puts its profits toward homelessness services
- A proper fashion show: the mushroom pattern, business Barbie, the staple dress, and the bell of the ball
- Garage Sale (bar AND arcade), Anaconda, Rerun, and about six other thrifts
- Food: Sorco, Hawkers, and Snooze A.M. — best breakfast of my life
- Spanish Love Songs, with Fly Catcher and Armor for Sleep — the whole reason we drove down

Let's go on a road trip to Nashville together. Last weekend, Waka Jr. and I drove to Nashville to see one of our favorite bands play. And along the way, we stopped and visited our friend Russ, who has just a really great collection of men's vintage. I scored this incredible, very rare Blue Angel shirt. If you don't know, Blue Angel was Cyndi Lauper's band before she became the Cyndi Lauper that we know and love. I am so excited to have this in my collection.
I also got a lot of work done along the way. Uh, because I'm the passenger princess, my sweetheart drove and I was able to get some content done.
Then we went to cute vintagey things. My friend Ava has the cutest store and this was the first time I ever got a chance to go to it. It was great to see her. And I mean, honestly, look at some of these pieces. Everything you are looking at right now, I 100% purchased. You'll see me try it on in a little bit. Um, what else? So, Ava's store is great because everything is — which I thoroughly enjoyed. Both those shops are in Columbia, Tennessee, so we hadn't even made it to Nashville yet.
Oh, hi Nick. This is him checking us out. He has the cutest little checkout window. Obsessed.
We got to East Nashville and this is the Russell Hotel where we stayed. It's a 115-year-old church that they converted into a boutique hotel and they do something really cool. 100% of their profits go to organizations that are helping people experiencing homelessness. So, by staying here, you are helping other people stay in warm beds or get food on their table. And I think that's amazing and exactly what Dolly would do.
Okay — fashion show. I love this two-piece set so much, but the shorts were too big. This one has the most incredible mushroom pattern, and I am obsessed. Uh, hello business Barbie. Who's that girl? Love it. Um, this will be my staple dress moving forward. It is so comfortable. And then the bell of the ball. This one right here does something great to my shoulders. Holy moly. Uh, top doesn't match the bottoms, but see the vision.
Okay. Um, and then next day, back to the vintage shops. We went to Garage Sale. I really liked this one. They have a bar and also an arcade. And that's cool for everyone. My friend Denim Donna had some stuff in this shop, so it was fun to look through her collection as well. And then we hit up like six other thrift stores and vintage shops. Uh, shout out to Anaconda. Shout out to Rerun. We enjoyed both of those a whole bunch. Everybody just has such fun things.
We also ate some really good food while we were in town. I of course don't have videos of any of that, but Sorco — fantastic. Hawkers — incredible. Snooze A.M. — best breakfast of my life.
But after a couple days full of thrifting and vintage shopping, we finally got to do what we came for and I was most excited about. We got to see one of our favorite bands, Spanish Love Songs. And holy freaking heck, they were so good, you guys. I just love them so much. They played with Fly Catcher and Armor for Sleep. Also both fantastic bands.
Went to bed early, got up early, came home early cuz I had work. And that's the trip. Thanks for coming. I love you. Bye.
