Thrift Haul Saturday: Three Boxes of True Vintage from a Surprise Estate Sale

Hi, hello! This one's a long one, so buckle up. My friend Tuty texted me about an estate sale I had zero plans to go to, JR went back for round two, and I ended up with three boxes of true vintage that I hadn't even looked through — two of them I bought sight-unseen straight out of a trailer. I organized the boxes from "least good" to "all bangers," so it only gets better as we go.

• Box one is basics and britches: Sears Fashion Place, Style Craft, a 60s slip, and poly pants with shot elastic that are headed for the upcycle pile.
• Box two is where it gets wild — 70s baby-doll tees (a Warner Brothers Records grail!), a Patriots turtleneck, handmade 60s dresses with Talon zippers, and a very Danny-DeVito-in-Matilda blazer.
• Box three, Tuty's hand-picks, is all 60s union-tag shirtwaists, dolman sleeves, a farm-animal novelty print, and a red one I'm keeping. Sorry, it's mine.
• Lesson learned: sometimes you've got to buy the britches to get the grails — and go to the estate sale your husband swears has nothing.

Hi. Hello. You've got time to waste and I'm here to waste it. Hi. Hello. Good morning. Want to see a thrift haul? Too [ __ ] bad. My friend Tuty texted me this morning and asked if I was going to an estate sale that I had no intentions of going to. Um, and then long story short, she got me a bunch of stuff. Met up with my husband who went back and got me a bunch more stuff. I have not seen any of these things. And I am very excited. I'm just telling you guys, there is some truly wild true vintage pieces in here. I'm I haven't seen a lot of them. Two of the boxes she brought out of a trailer and I was like, "What do you want for the whole box?" I didn't even look through them. So, let's find out together what we got. This will probably be a long one. Buckle up. All right. Starting off with a nice basic. We have a Sears fashion place. Oh, a nice little black dress. Basic. Lovely. Good to see. And nice a coordinating slip for under her. This one is ooh. I just like this little tag. I don't know if it'll focus, but trust me, it's pretty 60s era. Then we've got this little sweetheart. She was made by Investments. She's a large silk and rayon in Hong Kong, so probably 70s. Look at the little buttons. Really cute. Oh, I love her. I thought he was ripped for a second, but she's not. Ooh, speaking of buttons. Oh, yeah. Oh my. That one's wild. I love her. Yeah, there's a bunch in here that you'll probably wear. Oh my god. Obsessed. Stay focused. That one's good, too. I think it's homemade. Yeah, she looks like a little house coat. You got the pockets turned inside out. She does have handmade vibes. It's cute. She's very cute. Nice and broken in and faded. We got some britches. They're poly. They're straightlegged. They will probably get turned into shorts. This is a good size, too. Elastic is still nice. Oh, look. They already turned these into shorts. Cool lots. Listen to this. Some of the pants aren't great, but you know, you got to buy it all to get it. You can replace I can replace the elastic. Raphaela, a little sweater vest. Uh, sweater top. Who are you? Elast. Look, the elastic has been prefucked in these. They tied it together to make it work for them. Just some cute little poly britches. We got cute little poly bridges. All very seven. Look at this top. Oh no. I thought they might have been a set, but I love this pattern. So good. Looks handmade. I organized the boxes from least good to best. So bear with us. So it's going to only get better from here. And these are already so good. The little feather flowers.

More britches. These are straight leg. They're poly. The elastic's [ __ ] They'll be great for upycling. Oo, nice little solid turquoise. Yeah, definitely a good size. Metal zipper. She was storebought. She's a half size, so she's definitely made for my more powerful babies. A belt that matches a dress from earlier. Oo, that one needs some work, but I think it's good. A little buyer California junk. She's real 80s. She definitely has some stains. Nothing a little restoration can't fix. Restoration. Get the stains out of your [ __ ] I've got a code. Let me know if you need it. Uh, then we have this little sweetie petiti. I like her pattern. A lovely baby. We've got more black britches with shot elastic. And then a darling little top. Oh, she's a little peasant top made by Style Craft. That's cute. Look at her little taggy. Good buttons. Yeah, good buttons. Good fabric. A cutie patootie here. Another adorable top. I like the collar on this one. The little bloop. So cute. Behold the pattern. I'm getting excited and I'm like moving a little bit faster. Oh, so darling. Just like a sweet little fit and flare 70s babe. No stains, which is crazy. Yeah, that's considering how stained up everything is in here. That's amazing. Cozy boy. That one looks so comfortable. It looks It feels so comfortable. A little Giana jump. Just some good polka dots. A nice neutral, a basic. Oh, and I really like the like it's subtle, but it's a really good floral pattern on there. The little sweet pastel flowers. And we've got shoulder pads. Lady Lady who? Lady Ronte. Okay. And then we got a chicken flesh colored little base dress. This would be good like layered underneath other things that are semi sheer actually. Or if you're any color other than chicken flesh pink, it would look adorable on you. Some more Polly Boys. What is this? Oh, I like her. She's carriage court, so she's meant to be a little nighty. She's definitely getting worn out into the world, though. We're nearing the end of box one, and we have two more after this. Third one is all bangers. This is so cute. It's fruity. I love it. Who made you? We'll never know. All right, then we've got this little cutie. Echo 2 by Echo Bay. Just a dope little blazer. The shoulder pads are totally [ __ ] disintegrated.

A darling top. Good size on this, too. That's got to be at least a 23 pit to pit. Oh, I love the pattern on this top. She have open sides. Yeah, cute little detail. Good size on her, too. And I love that pattern. Got this baddy. A little pastel, a little clown core, a lot of color bleed. I'll either fix it or I'll upcycle it. We got this guy. Little goth moment here for you. Love to see it. Another little slippy slip. She looks pretty 60s. When are you? It's movie star brand. Behold. And then this sweet little top. A nice neutral. Some sweet flowers. Polish. Definitely handmade. And the last item in box number one. This adorable dress. Shoulder buttons. She's going to be late 70s, early 80s.

Now, box number two.

Oh my gosh, there's some goodies. There's some goodies. Okay, some of the handpicked stuff that I picked out of the other box that I didn't get is in here. This one is damp. It was raining. Okay, valid. Inside out. Let's get her right side. Oh. Oh my god. The sweetest. That one's really good. She has Oh my god, she's so cute. Let me get these sleeves out. Or at least the one. So, you've got nice cozy sleeves, adorable little lace, the coziest night gown you've ever seen. I love her. Definitely going to be a day dress. BS. Bill bottoms. Those might fit you, too. Oh my god, they look like they might fit me. I can't wait to get these clean enough to try on. Who made you? It's not a brand I recognized. 100% cotton, size 134. I'm not seeing any brand on here. I'll figure it out later. We'll figure it out later.

That's what I was telling you. I got multiples. Hell yes. Oh my god. 70s baby doll te's. What is happening here, Barber? I don't know. It's sick, though. Show the tag. Tricycles, bicycles, Paris. It's just like a sweet little Paris scene. Oh my god. There's a couple. A cute little Hershey's kisses on the anvil. Thought about Angel City Vintage when I saw that one since she liked the Kool-Aid one so much. She'll love that one. Oh, you dirty. Oh, it's so sick though. Oh my god. If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me with the Warner Brothers Records hit on it? That's crazy. That is amazing. True Vintage Grail. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. This is from the Italian dressing company, not to be confused with salad dressing. Whoops, lost one. We got more cool. We got more flares. Lots of shot elastic in here. That's okay. Somebody at the bins was telling me they've been making a killing selling true vintage lingerie. Yes, we were for a minute there on whatnot. These are really cute flares. This one looks more men's. I love it. Crazy. And then the last thing in this box. I don't know actually. Sick flares. Decent decent elastic. Look how wide they are. Maybe not a W. Early Jenos. Prejenos. All right. Okay. The last box. Drum roll. Are these the ones that Toty picked? Mhm. Okay. So, these are all the ones that Tutti got for us. And then those were all the ones Jr. For the record, Chad, I would have picked these if I would have got there. She got first dibs. She was there first. Oh my god. My favorite cut of dress in the whole world. Dolman sleeves. full circle skirt, shirt waist. Like, this is the most flattering type of dress that has ever been created in the history of time. Oh yeah, we cooked. Oh my gosh.

And the zipper is a little bit corroded. The styling makes it 60s, but if I had just felt it, I would have assumed 50s. Oh, this one. She told me about this one and said, "I hope you can get it clean. I think I overpaid." I know it was this one. But she she did her best. And I'm not complaining. These are amazing. For the record, she didn't overpay yet. Yeah, she didn't overpay. She told me her total I had to pay her back. Worth it. Um, amazing. This one has Did you have a metal side zipper? No. Okay.
