Yet another thrift haul

Summary

Here's some stuff I got recently, and oh boy is there some stuff. We dug through the Goodwill bins and came out with a wedding dress, a sailor vest that sold in a flash, a lowkey grail, a Sears safari jacket, and enough cute pillowcases to keep my upcycle brain very happy. Can you believe people just throw these away?

Half haul, half scheming session, this is me showing off the finds and dreaming up what they'll become, from cozy patchwork pants to whatever amazing thing that quilt is destined for.

  • The bins deliver: a wedding dress, a Free People top that resold for ~$40, a Clueless-coded blazer, and a grail that sold on eBay in days.
  • Texture wins: an unreal sweater, a teensy sailor vest, and a robe that doubles as a duster.
  • Future projects: patchwork towel pants, a quilt makeover, and a stack of pillowcases.
  • Scored several matching 50s/60s men's pajama sets that, surprisingly, haven't disappeared yet.
  • Catch a lot of these on the Whatnot shows (it's Time to Waste Vintage over there), plus eBay and Depop.

Here's some stuff I got recently. This pillowcase. This wedding dress. I'm really gonna try and do this. Okay, spin it around, Sam, show everybody what you got. There it is. Golly. Can you believe people just throw these away? They just throw them away. We found everything here at the Goodwill bins, you guys. Truly. Okay, what's this? What's this? Oh my god. Get ready to boot scoot boogie. Okay, embroidery. And the buttons are so stinking precious. Suede skirt, it's not super vintage, but it is a good size, so I grabbed it. Uh oh, you know, just some little scandalous lingerie. It's a Free People top. I was struggling to figure it out, I ended up selling that for like 40 bucks. We got some little lingerie here. This is fun. We're learning together. Oh man, I love this blazer. It reminded me of like Clueless and I was very into it. If you didn't know, I'm recording this like a month later, I just want you to be able to see the things I found.

Lingerie, nice, nice. Who do we have next? Oh man, the texture on this sweater is unreal, I love it. And this one, oh my god, this one sold so fast and I was so sad about it, the little sailor vest thing. And this one, teensy tiny precious. Who do we have next? Oh, this is actually like lowkey a grail. I forget the name of the brand, maybe I'll show it to you, probably not, but they go for crazy. That sold on eBay in maybe like 3 days. You know I love a safari jacket. Got that good Leisure Life. Sears. When was the last time you saw a Leisure Life? And then this little robe definitely works as a duster, like wear it out in the world, maybe put it on better than I did. You know, I'm doing my best here. You probably like the dress I'm wearing. No, I didn't make it. No, I don't have a pattern. Yes, I will at some point figure it out. Look at this blanket, though. Look at it, love.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with these placemats, but I do love a cornucopia. Who doesn't? What if there's just people who hate cornucopias out there in the world? Little towel, you saw it. Another little towel. I love these. I want to make some pants out of them, like patch them all together and make some cozy pants, I feel like it could be pretty cool. Who do we have next? Just a little pillowcase. You know, I stay picking up every cute pillowcase I can find. This fabric, I made a kaftan out of that, I think, didn't I? Yeah, I did. You haven't seen it yet, but I made one, it's too big for me, so I'll give it to someone else. And then what do we have here? Oh, this is one of those little skirts that can also be like a strapless dress. And then this shirt, um, it's actually, oh no, it's not a shirt, it's a pajama top. And I got like several matching 50s/60s men's pajama sets. I thought these would disappear so fast, but I think I still have all of them.

You can get it in my next Whatnot show. We have lots of fun shows over there. If you don't know what the Whatnot app is, you should check it out and hang out with us sometime. It's Time to Waste Vintage on that app. This skirt's so cute, I wish I had shown it to you better, it looks like a basketball jersey. And then this dress is like, okay, am I a judge? Am I a classy lady? Give me a cigarette and a martini, please. Freaking love it, I'm not even going to lie to you. What else is in this bag? Oh my god, this quilt. I'm going to make something amazing out of that. But for now, that's it. I'll see you later. I love you. Bye.
